Outreach

LinkedIn delivery and limits

Understand messages that need attention and how Finlay paces outreach from your LinkedIn account.

This page helps when a LinkedIn message from a manual outreach batch needs attention. For Finlay-managed first contact and candidate replies, see Automated outreach.

On jobs where you do the outreach from your own LinkedIn, a message that does not go out says why in the candidate’s status:

Status What it means What to do
Session expired Finlay cannot send until you sign in to LinkedIn again. Reconnect LinkedIn. Nothing is lost.
Not accepted A temporary error on LinkedIn’s side. Resend once. If it fails again, Finlay tells you.
Weekly limit Your account reached LinkedIn’s weekly invitation limit. Resend once the week is up.
Unreachable The profile was removed or made private after sourcing. Nothing. Finlay will not try again.
Skipped The candidate replied or moved on before a follow-up was due, so Finlay did not send it. Nothing.

Finlay does not retry a message LinkedIn refused because of its weekly limit. Resend it from the candidate row when the limit resets. Other failed outreach can be resent from the candidate’s Outreach stage.

Reconnect from Integrations. Outreach cannot send until the connection is restored. Messages that failed in the last two weeks are sent after you reconnect.

Finlay caps invitations and messages for each connected LinkedIn account each day and week. Queued messages send as capacity becomes available.
