Jobs and sourcing
Create a job
Give Finlay the role details and screening criteria it needs to source candidates, choose the job's automation, then publish when the setup is ready.
Describe the role
Section titled “Describe the role”This brief drives sourcing, so write the requirements you would use to decide whether a candidate belongs in the search. See Source candidates for how Finlay uses the role details.
- Choose Add job.
- Add the title, description, requirements and practical details such as seniority, location, work arrangement and employment type.
- Add screening questions for information candidates should cover in a pre-screen. With AI pre-screening enabled, these questions help guide the voice conversation.
The editor flags missing or vague search criteria. Use Fix to refine a skill or turn it into a screening question before publishing.
Choose the Slack channel for this job
Section titled “Choose the Slack channel for this job”In Notifications, choose a Slack channel when this job needs updates in a different place from the workspace default. Candidate introductions and scheduling replies for the job go there.
- If you leave it at Use tenant channel or direct message, Finlay uses the workspace notification channel when one is set, and otherwise sends direct messages.
- Changing the channel affects future messages only. Older threads stay in their original channel.
Save or publish
Section titled “Save or publish”- Save draft keeps the role out of search.
- Publish starts sourcing. When automated outreach is enabled, Finlay begins contacting eligible candidates after they are shortlisted.
On Finlay Source, choose how much Finlay does before you publish. See Choose your automation level. The Free plan has no automation section. On Finlay Managed, your Finlay recruiter sets up and manages the job after you create it. See Managed workspaces.
