# Reach out to candidates yourself

On a Sourcing only job, choose candidates, review Finlay's outreach drafts and send the approved messages from your connected LinkedIn account.

On a **Sourcing only** job, Finlay finds and shortlists people but sends no
outreach on its own. [Connect LinkedIn](https://help.finlay.ai/integrations/linkedin/) before
drafting messages; Finlay sends the approved messages from your own account.

Choose this workflow when you want to control the first message and every
candidate conversation yourself. For Finlay-managed first contact, see

## Create a batch

Under **Sourced** or **Shortlisted**, select the people you want to contact
and choose **Draft messages**. You can work in small batches; creating drafts
does not send them.

## Review before sending

Finlay writes a first message for each selected person from the job's
outreach template. When the drafts are ready, open **Review & send** from the
draft banner, the candidate profile or the notification.

- Edit a draft freely. LinkedIn invitation notes must be 300 characters or
  fewer.
- Update **What Finlay is told to write** when you want future drafts to use a
  different approach. It does not change drafts already made.
- Deselect anyone you are not ready to contact. Their draft remains available
  to review later.

Choose **Send N from LinkedIn** to queue the approved drafts. Finlay sends
them gradually within LinkedIn's delivery limits. On Sourcing only, you handle
candidate replies and any follow-ups yourself.
