# Source candidates

Finlay can turn a clear job brief into a candidate search, then follow the outreach workflow you choose.

## What sourcing does

Finlay can source candidates for the role you describe and bring them into that
job's pipeline. Use it to turn a clear brief into a shortlist before deciding
whether Finlay or your team should contact people.

## Give Finlay a usable brief

Create a job with the title, role description and practical details that
define the search, such as seniority, location, work arrangement and
employment type. Separate must-have skills from nice-to-have skills so the
requirements reflect which trade-offs you can make.

Add screening questions for information that a profile cannot answer. These
questions can help guide an AI pre-screen later; they do not replace a clear

## Choose what happens next

Sourcing and outreach are separate choices. Before publishing, choose whether
Finlay runs outreach and AI pre-screening, or whether you review people and
contact them yourself. See

## Review the outcome

Candidates remain in the job's pipeline for review. What happens after they
are sourced depends on the automation setting: Finlay can move into automated
outreach, or you can select people and approve drafts yourself. See
